The Role
We're hiring a Senior Designer, Brand & Marketing to lead the next evolution of Smith.ai’s visual identity. This is a highly cross-functional, high-visibility role for a designer who can own, drive, and execute—not just deliver pixels. You’ll be the creative force behind campaigns, assets, and systems that speak to real business pain points while championing clarity, cohesion, and conversion.
What You’ll Do
Own & Execute with Creative Authority
- Lead and manage high-impact design projects across brand, web, and growth marketing
- Serve as the agency POC and driver of Smith.ai’s brand refresh across functions
- Build and maintain reusable assets and templates for scale
Simplify Complexity with Strategic Design
- Translate abstract or technical concepts (AI, automation, hybrid services) into elegant, understandable visuals
- Design product abstractions and conceptual diagrams that age well
- Be a visual thought partner to PMMs and content leads—help refine the story, not just illustrate it
Collaborate & Influence Across Teams
- Work closely with PMMs, growth marketers, product designers, PMs, and execs
- Present work confidently and explain rationale to both creative and non-creative stakeholders
Move Fast Without Sacrificing Depth
- Execute quickly without compromising quality or brand integrity
- Set creative momentum in a startup environment—you’re not the bottleneck
Design for Performance
- Understand the funnel—from awareness to conversion—and design with measurable impact in mind
- Know how to A/B test, analyze, and iterate on creative assets for growth
Design Systems
- Maintain and evolve a scalable design system
- Think in modular components and visual patterns, not one-offs
Jobs to Be Done in your first 6 months
Own and Evolve the Visual Brand
- Own and continuously iterate on the Smith.ai brand across web, campaigns, social, events, presentations, and more
- Liaise with external creative partners and be the primary creative point with our external brand agency—partnering on direction, execution, and rollout of Smith.ai’s next brand evolution
Develop & Enforce Scalable Design Systems
- Build templates, style guides, and scalable systems to keep design consistent across functions
- Monitor adoption and enforce brand and design guidelines company-wide
Create High-Impact Assets
- Design engaging and performant assets for digital ads, landing pages, webinars, sales decks, emails, and social content
Must-Have Qualifications
- 5–8 years in brand, marketing, or visual design roles
- Proven experience working at high-growth startups in B2B, tech/AI, or SaaS
- Strong portfolio across web, campaign, and brand systems
- Mastery of visual design, across typography, hierarchy, and design systems
- Proficiency in Figma; bonus for motion, illustration, or basic front-end
- Self-driven, thoughtful, and comfortable with ambiguity
